Our 3 Day Spontaneous Trip to Dubai + Outfit Lookbook

January 30, 2018

Our Dubai Trip

On the weekend, from Thursday of January 26 to Saturday of the 27th, my family and I went on a short trip to Dubai by car. It’s been awhile since we visited Dubai; the last time being around 3 years ago when my grandparents and aunt visited us. It was exciting and a very precious trip. I got to relieve stress from school and just have fun with my family since it has been awhile since we went on trips. So here is what we did during the three days!

First Day

Well, the first day was the day we packed our car and headed straight to Dubai. It was a 6 hour trip, we set out on the road at around 5 in the morning and arrived 11 in the afternoon. After setting our bags down in our hotel room, we headed of to Atlantis and the Emirate Mall!

We went to eat and take pictures as well. And in the night, for dinner, we went to a Turkish restaurant nearby and ate a lot of delicious food. We were pretty exhausted that night and slept almost right away.

Outfit #1

This was my outfit for the first day. Maroon hijab to compliment the shiny skirt I have on! The jacket is to give the outfit a more casual and playful look while the boots top it off by making it chic. The jacket and the skirt for this outfit is from Zara.

Second Day

On the second day, we were planning to visit Legoland but changed our minds to Motiongate (and we’re very happy that we did). We arrived at Motiongate almost 1 hour before it was opening its gates but as soon as we got in, we were always first in line to try the rides. And because of that, we rode – I’d say – like 95% of all the rides in the park.

So, a tip for anyone wanting to go to Motiongate Dubai, go early to not have to wait in line for too long. We spent most of the day there and ate at the noodle shop inside the Kung Fu Panda land.

Unlike my brothers, I am quite fearless when it comes to amusement park rides and totally love all the rollercoasters or anything thrilling. Especially after riding the fastest rollercoaster in the world in Ferrari World Abu Dhabi a couple years back, not many rollercoasters seem too intimidating to me anymore. But, I was very happy that my brother gained courage to try out all the “scary rides” while we were at Motiongate.

Motiongate is the perfect place for family because it has rides for every age, I definitely recommend going there!

To finish off the day, we went to the crowded Dubai Mall for food and shopping as well. I stocked up on stationery this day because Dubai’s Virgin Store has many more things than the one here. Hope that all the stationery will help me organize for school and life in general.

Outfit #2

This day’s theme was yellow! I paired a black, jean skirt (which is actually super comfortable to walk around in) with a fun-printed jacket. Just like the first day, I have on my black boots (that I absolutely love) and the same black bow that you’ll see a lot of.

See how the back of the jacket says “Hollywood” and Motiongate is based on movies…? Yeah, I did that on purpose, haha.

Last Day

This was our last day in Dubai. The first thing we did was visit the Burj Al Arab to take pictures. Something fun we did was try to recreate a photo that my brothers and I took back in 2011. We also took cute and fun family pictures there.

After that, we decided to go to the Miracle Garden for pictures. Funny thing is, we separated into three groups and it took awhile before we found each other at an ice cream shop. Lastly, we went to the Dubai Outlet to just hang out and eat some lunch before heading back home.

The road back home was hot and tiring but we all endured it because we had fun being together and eating snacks. We arrived back home at 9:30 in the night and the next day was a school day…yikes. But thankfully, I had no important homework, project, or test due.

Outfit #3

Ah…this outfit. The jacket that my mom fell in love with at first sight, I did too. Because it was more in the dark spectrum, I decided to pair it with a bright blue skirt and hijab. The jacket is from Zara as well!

Reflection

I am so happy that my family went on this trip because, at least for me, I needed it a lot. As school starts becoming more busier this year, it will be harder to have this free time for family. We live in the same house and live together but we never really interact. We’re all so busy doing what we need to do that we forget about the things that are there.

Being a junior and almost a senior in high school, this is what I am most regretful of. If only I could turn back time and spent much more time with my family would I not feel this regret. This trip was short but I completely just let go of the worrying and stressing about school at home to fully enjoy my time while in Dubai.

Also, during the trip, I was able to be re-inspired. I have many things I want to write about and start for this blog and even just my life as a whole.

I hope everyone takes some time to spend with family and friends because sometimes, they are the medicine to fix your pains or confusions. What do you do on a normal weekend?
