Summer To-Do/Wish List For 2018!
My last post was on June 9th on this blog but, I am back after around 20 days in Canada! This blog post was long overdue as my video about it was released on June 16th. Better late than never, eh?
For those of you who haven’t seen the video, here it is below! Basically, it is just a video where I briefly talk about the things I need and want to do during the summer.
Junior to Senior Year
Now, I didn’t go into depth about this in the video but it’s true! The child-at-heart, unicorn-and-rainbow-loving, plushies-enthusiast Conchita is going to be a senior in high school. And that means that this summer will be very precious and also an important summer to spend well.
It’s the summer I am transitioning into thinking MORE deeply about my future, solidifying who I may want to become in the world. Because in less than a year, I graduate high school and like my family said, it won’t be the same ever again.
How am I “transitioning” during this summer, you ask? Well. I am currently writing this as I leave Canada—my dream country where my dream universities are. By spending a good few weeks in Canada, I got to know the environment better and to also visit some universities!
More specifically, I visited four of them here: University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, University of Calgary, and University of British Colombia. My top one? Glad you asked but, it is University of Waterloo. Not only is the campus really modern and welcoming but, I like the weather there too haha. But really they all are really nice places to go to!
Oh, and just a little side-note, here’s a vlog I posted on my YouTube channel when my family and I were visiting University of Waterloo. You should definitely check out all the vlogs I posted while I traveled Canada!
Preparing for Examinations
I have to prepare for a lot of exams such as the SAT, TOEFL, SAT Subject Tests, and like…all my AP classes for next year. But for now, I will be focusing on my SAT! My family and I will also be going to Indonesia this summer for more reasons than just…summer. AKA SAT private lessons that I will have to take.
And that’s fine, I accept it all. Because I really do believe in my dreams and potentials, all I have to do is work hard and get the best results. We are flying to Indonesia right away—about one and a half days after we arrive in Oman. Haha. That was my mom’s decision.
Studying, studying, and STUDYING
On my own, I will have to study for all said things above that is not SAT. Not to mention I have tons of summer assignments for all my AP classes: Literature and Composition, Physics 2, Calculus, and Seminar. So that’s a lot of fun, huh?
But again, it’s not a burden to me because I really want to reach my dreams so…yeah…I just gotta stay focused and motivated. Have I started anything? Nope. Because REASON A, I was in Canada and there was no time to just sit down and study. I gotta BE with my family, you know?
Push aside all the serious stuff of this summer, here’s the FUN section! Yaaaayyyyy! From simple things such as the ways I want to spend the rest of summer with my family to video content and blogposts, I’ll tell you what’s going on in this mind of mine.
One thing I love to do in the summer and therefore, something I barely get to do is play with my little cousins! They’re all girls, haha. And they all love to put makeup on so, when I go to Indonesia, I suddenly become their personal makeup artist. But! This year we’re doing a little twist with the makeup, I’m gonna do photoshoots, fashion shows with them. They would all love it so much. I’ve got it everything set from lighting, setting, cameras, and the music. We’re doing it all.
Also, whenever my family gather in our house in the city, I also suddenly become a singer. Now, I am not the BEST singer because some songs suit me and some just don’t. But I still stay in front of the big TV and sing my heart out. I don’t know much about new Western music so…I sing all my favorite Korean songs. Best pronunciation? Maybe not. But I try. If you wanna see how I sound check out this post where I covered IU’s Ending Scene !
If I talk about wanting to spend more time with family, blah blah blah…that’s too cliche because we ALL know that’s what I will do without needing to write about it, right?
BlogPosts Coming Up…
I have so much blogpost ideas that I haven’t yet written anything about and the summer is such a good time to pursue them. So I will. Yes, I do sometimes take long breaks from writing but that’s just because I really want to put out the best blogposts. I feel more than making videos, writing the best blogposts is much more harder. Or maybe that’s just me who really values the art of writing. Not that video-making is any less hard work…because, wow it really is hard work.
There are just too many blogposts ideas to talk about but just quickly, I will say that I will be bringing back the FASHION aspect of my blog! After a long hiatus of that important part of my blog, it’s back. It’s summer so I will have more time to take photoshoots and put outfits together.
Apart from vlogs that I have started, I will have many other new content-main-channel videos on my YouTube channel. There’s just so many things I want to try out and do but of course, being not at home it was to hard to sit down and make main channel videos.
Just like in my video about my summer to-do list, I talk about a new series I want to start: Going Through My Diary and Reflect with Me! I feel like this will be such a valuable series maybe for viewers but, for me…VERY valuable. I plan it out as a way for me to look back on what past-Conchita felt, thought, and did and what present-Conchita thinks about it. Was it good? Was it bad? How did I improve/change? What is different, the same?
Very recently, I posted my first ever dance cover to PRISTIN’s Get It and there’s way more to come. Because dancing is one of my top hobbies even though I am not the best at it, I love it and that’s why I keep on going. Oh and dancing acts as my [ONLY] form of exercise because other than that, I don’t like to exercise, haha. You can watch it below!
AND…I’m pretty sure that concludes this blogpost! The video and this blogpost, although related, are very different in the way I describe things and I even added a little more detail in this post. So, if you want to, you can check out my video that focuses on the overall to-do list and find out a little more about the types of videos that are to come on my YouTube Channel!
